Individual, Couples and Family Counseling
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck or worried about navigating the future. Not sure what direction to take or how to balance important relationships in your life? Sometimes these situations can make us feel hopeless, anxious or depressed. I will work with you to tap into your strengths and help you uncover parts of your mind, body and spirit to cultivate the change you desire and deserve.
Sometimes our most important relationships get the least amount of attention. I am passionate about working with couples to get to the root of their issues and build a path towards a new way of understanding each other. I will work with you on providing your relationship the focus it needs to enable compassion and love to thrive.
Families take on many different forms and have many different issues. I work with families that are dealing with life transitions, discipline, parenting challenges and challenging family dynamics. I have experience working with parents and children and utilize a variety of approaches to help you understand the issues more clearly and work towards the resolution you hope to achieve.
Brian Letzkus - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I started my career in counseling to help others in their journey through the daily complexities of life and relationships. I am inspired by the courage and determination of my clients and remain committed to guiding them on their journey.
As our life unfolds we often lose perspective of who we are and our understanding of our place in the world. We can feel alone, disconnected from those around us or in an unhealthy relationship. Humans long for understanding and to feel connected to others around them. I work with clients to help them know themselves, re-discover their strengths and find the connections they need to feel known and loved.
Before I became a counselor I was a professional in the business world. I am a husband, father, sibling and friend. These roles and experiences greatly influence how I function as a therapist and my understanding of the myriad of roles each person plays in life.
I attended the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Virginia Tech and I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. I have experience working with couples, families, and individuals on a wide range of challenges including; anxiety, depression, marital/family conflict, parenting, anger management, substance abuse and addiction. I follow a strength-based systemic approach with clients and seek to understand the family and community systems that influence and support the client. I also hold an MBA from Marymount University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the College of William & Mary.
